Gelanggang Inovasi dan Kreativitas (GIK) UGM is a national strategic project designed as Southeast Asia's largest creative super-hub on campus. Replacing the old building with integrated modern facilities, this Rp557 billion project serves as a bridge between academia, industry, and society. Built by PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk from June 2022 to April 2024, GIK is iconic with a rooftop garden that offers a direct view of Mount Merapi, making it an architectural masterpiece as well as a future innovation center.
Building in the heart of Yogyakarta and an active campus environment presents complex logistical challenges. In addition to limited access and the risk of high congestion, especially during long weekend periods. The project was under the direct supervision of UGM academics and civil engineering experts. This demands very high standards of concrete quality, precise volume accuracy, and consistency of service that must meet the expectations of experts in the field.
Solusi Bangun Beton addresses these challenges through intensive communication from the pre-construction stage, offering innovative casting methods and highly adaptive delivery schedules. With the support of 24-hour batching plant operations, SBB was able to secure concrete supply amidst the dynamic traffic of the city. As a result, all installed concrete products met quality and volume specifications without compromise, ensuring the project was completed on time. Today, GIK stands as a testament to SBB's reliability in supporting inclusive and international standard education infrastructure.
