Dhoho Kediri International Airport is the first air transportation infrastructure masterpiece in Indonesia to be fully funded by the private sector (PT Gudang Garam Tbk). With an investment value of Rp13 trillion, the airport is equipped with a 3,300-meter runway capable of serving wide body aircraft. This strategic project, which was built in the 2020-2022 period, is projected to become a new engine of economic growth in the Mataraman region, with a service capacity of more than 5 million passengers per year.
As an international aviation facility, the construction of the runway and main structures of the airport demanded very strict concrete specifications to ensure safety and long-term durability. The main technical challenge is the use of Low Heat Concrete with a maximum fresh concrete temperature of 32°C. Controlling the temperature of this massive concrete is crucial to prevent thermal cracking that could affect the integrity of the airport structure in the future.
We addresses these challenges through a comprehensive technical approach. From the early stages, our team of experts conducted intensive communication and trial mixes using various selected material sources with strict periodic quality control. With a 24-hour onsite batching plant, we ensured continuity of supply and stability of concrete quality at every stage of casting. As a result, the project was completed on time with product performance that exceeded the expectations of the project owner, contractor, and consultant. This success brought Solusi Bangun Beton back to be recommended for the next phase of the airport development project.
