Jakarta Bandung High Speed Train
The Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Rail is Indonesia's first high-speed rail project and one of the most ambitious infrastructure masterpieces we have ever supported. The project spans 142 kilometers, connecting Halim Perdanakusuma in Jakarta to Tegalluar Station in Bandung. We are actively involved in the main construction phase from 2018 to 2022 to support the creation of an environmentally friendly and efficient modern public transportation system.
As the first high-speed rail project with high-tech standards, the entire physical structure, especially the tracks and bridges, demanded very strict material quality specifications. The main challenge we faced was to supply large volumes of aggregates that had to meet very specific standards of strength, size, shape and cleanliness. These materials are crucial for the main contractor, Sinohydro Corporation Limited, in producing the concrete girders and other civil works structures that form the backbone of the high-speed rail's safety.
