The construction of Terminal 2 and the improvement of shoulder taxiway at Juanda Airport is one of our strategic projects in supporting the improvement of national air transportation infrastructure. The project, which is owned by PT Angkasa Pura I, was carried out with contractor PT Waskita Karya in 2014 and covered an area of 3,500 m². Our main focus in this project is to ensure that the airport operational area has a reliable and functional pavement system.
Prior to the repair, the shoulder taxiway area at Juanda Airport often experienced problems in the form of puddles, even flooding during the rainy season. This condition is crucial because it has the potential to disrupt the smooth running of flight operations and create safety risks for aircraft maneuvering on the taxiway. As an international airport facility, a pavement solution is needed that is not only strong enough to withstand the load, but also able to manage water runoff instantly.
Solusi Bangun Indonesia through our subsidiary, PT Pendawa Lestari Perkasa, rose to the challenge by applying ThruCrete to the new taxiway area. We deliver porous concrete technology that allows water to seep directly into the ground, effectively eliminating the potential danger of standing water. This product provides the added value of guaranteed strength as well as a precise hardening process for congested operational areas. Through the application of ThruCrete, we have successfully raised the standards of safety and comfort at Juanda Airport, while ensuring the infrastructure remains resilient to extreme weather conditions without disrupting flight activity.
